Candidate for the position of Vice President

Florin Tancu is a senior travel and tourism executive with over two decades of leadership experience in Romania’s corporate travel sector. His career spans general management, commercial strategy, organisational development, and partnership building at the highest level, including serving as Director General of WECO Travel Romania since 2011. His professional background demonstrates consistent achievement in managing profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities, developing business lines, and shaping strategic direction across multiple travel organisations.

Within Skål, Florin is a key contributor to the development of the movement in Romania and Europe. He is a founding member of both Skål International Bucharest and Skål Europe, and has held several leadership roles, including Treasurer (2014–2017) and President (2017–2024) of Skål Bucharest. At the European level, he previously served as Secretary General of Skål Europe, where he supported governance processes, inter-club coordination, and communication across the region. His long-term commitment reflects a deep dedication to collaboration, member engagement, and strengthening the European Skål community.

As a candidate for Vice President of Skål Europe, Florin presents a structured and ambitious two-year program for 2025–2027. His vision is to reinforce Skål Europe as a dynamic, innovative, and cooperative regional platform, enhancing value for members through digital transformation, sustainable leadership, and cross-border initiatives. His strategic objectives focus on member engagement, digital tools, sustainability, visibility, partnerships, and professional development, each accompanied by clear key performance indicators to ensure transparency and measurable progress.

Florin’s proposed mandate is guided by principles of collaboration, transparency, innovation, and inclusion. He aims to work closely with the Board, National Committees, and Skål International to ensure strong governance and to deliver biannual progress reporting aligned with the Skål Europe strategic plan. With his professional expertise, international mindset, and long-standing commitment to the Skål movement, Florin positions himself as a candidate dedicated to strengthening the organisation and advancing sustainable tourism across Europe.
