On 6 December, during the Skål Europe Elective AGA in Budapest, members will have the opportunity to discover a wine that quietly carries centuries of heritage into the future: Definitely Maybe, a Petillant Naturel crafted by the boutique winery Ori Marani. This tasting is generously offered by GeorgianWine.online, and personally curated on site by its director, Tania Oskina.
This bottle is far more than a sparkling wine. It is a living expression of Georgia’s ambition, identity, and place within Europe’s cultural fabric — all the more meaningful at a time when Georgia stands as a candidate to join the European Union. Wine has always been one of Georgia’s strongest cultural ambassadors. With 8,000 years of uninterrupted winemaking tradition, the country offers Europe not only a partner, but a deeper reconnection with the very roots of winemaking civilisation.
Definitely Maybe embodies this dialogue between tradition and innovation. Crafted by Bastien Warskotte — a French winemaker who fell in love with Georgia’s landscapes and possibilities — together with Champagne-born brothers Antoine and Maxime Bouvet, this Pet-Nat blends Georgian authenticity with French precision. It brings together three indigenous varieties — Tsolikouri, Tsitska, and Aladasturi — harvested in different regions and at different times to capture their full aromatic depth. Fermented in old French oak barrels, the wine preserves texture, elegance, and the unmistakable honesty of natural Georgian winemaking.
The result is an extra-brut, bone-dry sparkling wine with light golden colour, fine bubbles, and the gentle haze typical of unfiltered Pet-Nat wines. Aromas of dried peach, chamomile, citrus peel, and green apple lead to a palate that is vibrant, mineral, and exceptionally clean. This bottle is a testament to how Georgia’s natural wine movement is evolving: sophisticated, modern, and deeply rooted in local terroir.
As Georgian Wine gains momentum in Europe, tastings such as this one help shine a light on a country whose wines deserve a stronger place at the continental table. They reflect a nation reconnecting with Europe not only politically but culturally – grape by grape, bottle by bottle, friendship by friendship.
For Skål Europe, this tasting is not just a moment of pleasure, but an opportunity to explore a new dimension of tourism, culture, and sustainability. Georgian wine tourism is growing rapidly, offering authentic rural experiences, natural vineyards, family estates, and an ancient viticultural landscape unlike anywhere else.
Thanks to GeorgianWine.online, Skålleagues will experience a wine that represents both heritage and hope. And thanks to Tania Oskina, who will be in Budapest to personally oversee the tasting, members will be guided through a story that is still being written — one where Georgia and Europe move ever closer together.
On 6 December, raise a glass of Definitely Maybe and toast not only to friendship, but to the bridges built through shared culture and good wine.
