In December 2025, Skål International Hungary will proudly celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Skål Budapest. This milestone event will bring together Skålleagues from across Europe and beyond, combining cultural discovery, festive traditions, and institutional highlights in the heart of Hungary.
The Jubilee Programme will guide participants through some of the most emblematic places of Hungarian history and culture:
- Budapest, with its Advent markets, the Parliament, St. Stephen’s Basilica, and Buda Castle;
- Gödöllő, with Queen Sisi’s summer residence;
- Lillafüred, a winter wonderland among snow-covered forests;
- Tokaj, home of world-renowned wines and heritage.
Programme Highlights
- Thursday, 4 December: Buda Castle walking tour and dinner at the Central Grand Café & Bar.
- Friday, 5 December: Private tour of the Hungarian Parliament, nostalgic tram to the Central Market Hall, and Hungarian horse show at Lázár Park.
- Saturday, 6 December: Advent market, visit to the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, and two key moments:
- Skål Europe Annual General Assembly (14:00–17:00) at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
- 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
- Sunday, 7 December: Excursion to Lillafüred with a stop in the Tokaj wine region and a festive dinner in the Bükk Mountains.
The complete four-day package offers a unique opportunity to celebrate friendship, discover Hungarian traditions, and experience the true spirit of Skål.
